Abigail Ortega, 85, Nurse's Aide

Born January 12, 1917, in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, she has live din Lorain for 50 years. She worked as a nurse's aide at Avon Oaks Nursing Home for 15 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel.

Surviving her are her sons: Elsa Alicea, of Lorain and Anna Alicea, of Elyria, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, brothers: Antero Ortega, of Texas, Sarro Ortega of Naranjito, Puerto Rico, sisters: Francesca Rios and Rafaela Sanabia, both of Catano, Puerto Rico.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years: Jose Alvarez, parents: Arturo Chevres, and Marcolino Ortega.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 14, 2002 from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave. Lorain, where funeral services will be Friday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a 9:30 mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery
