Leura D. "Sister" Moore, 66, Wire Form Maker

Leura D. "Sister" Moore (nee Barker), age 66 of Lorain, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

Born on January 15, 1939 in Charleston, W.Va. She moved to Lorain in 1954. Prior to that she was a resident of Whitesville, W.Va.

Sister was employed as a wire form maker at Lorain Products for 25 years, retiring in 1994. Prior to that, she was a waitress for 3 Star Restaurant, Lorain for 2 years and an assistant cook for Arvey's Potato Chip Company, Lorain for 1 year.

She was a member of the Amherst Free Will Baptist Church as well as the church's Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing.

She is survived by her son, Monroe O. Moore and grandson, Monroe V. Moore, both of Lorain.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dora Moore in 2000; parents, Monroe and Elise (nee Jerald) Banker and brother, Therman Barker.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2002 from 1-3 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain where services will be conducted on Monday, February 18, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John E. Jeffrey, retired pastor of Free Will Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
