Robert A. "Bob" Fuleki, Sr., 76, United States Steel Co. Lorain-Cuyahoga Works Retiree

Robert A. "Bob" Fuleki, Sr., of Amherst died Thursday, February 14, 2002 in E. M. H. Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a lengthy illness.

He was born February 2, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from South High School in Columbus. He came to Lorain in 1953 and was a Lorain resident until moving to Amherst three months ago.

Mr. Fuleki retired in 1991 from the Fuel and Power Department of United States Steel Co. Lorain-Cuyahoga Works, Lorain. He worked there for 37 years.

He was a veteran of World War Two serving in the U. S. Army as a Staff Sergeant. He was a Rifle Squad Leader with the 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Division in the Rhineland Central Europe, earning the Distinguished Unit Badge, E A M E Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars W W II Victory Metal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Metal.

Mr. Fuleki was a member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ also a member of the United Steel Workers, local 1104, Lorain and Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society, Lorain. He enjoyed watching his Son in law and Grandson race Super Modified Cars.

Among the survivors is his wife of 53 years Mary Alice (nee Dawson) Fuleki; son Robert Fuleki, Jr. of Vermilion; daughter Bonnie Shullick of Amherst; Six Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren a brother Andrew Fuleki of San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Helen (nee Titko) Fuleki.

Friends may call Friday 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. Funeral service will be Saturday 10:00 AM. The Reverend James Schacher, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon. Where the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mullen - Murray, Post 451, Lorain will conduct military honors.
