Carroll N. Willis, 77, Iron Worker and Security Guard

Carroll N. Willis, 77 of Lorain died on Saturday, February 16, 2002 in Lorain at his home unexpectedly.

Mr. Willis was born on May 14, 1924 in Sullivan, IN and moved to the Lorain area in 1947. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He retired as an iron worker at U.S. Steel in Lorain in 1981 after 32 years of service. He recently worked for 2 years as a security guard for P.C. Campana in Lorain.

He was a member of the VFW Post 1079 in Elyria, F & AM Lodge 552 and a member of the United Steelworkers Union.

Mr. Willis was an avid bowler and was a former star high school basketball and baseball player.

He is survived by his wife Geneva M. Willis (nee Howard-Massey) and one niece and one nephew.

Mr. Willis is preceded in death by his father, Neville Willis, his mother, Francis Willis Wilson (nee Pearson), and his brother Konrad Willis.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Pastor Jim Gordon of the Elyria Baptist Church will officiate.
