Michael J. Doslak, 56, Electrical Engineering Professor

Dr. Michael J. Doslak, of Cleveland, and formerly of Lorain, died Monday, February 18, 2002 in the Covenant Care Center if Cleveland following an extended illness. He was born in Lorain, Ohio on December 25, 1945 and had been a resident of Cleveland for the past eight years.

He was a graduate of Lorain St. Mary High School and went on to attend Dayton University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. Following completion of his baccalaureate studies, he was employed by the Lorain Products Company and later as a civilian contractor with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. He re-entered Dayton University's graduate studies program and received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971. He went on to attend Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and received his Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering in 1978. He served as assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln from 1980 to 1988.

A parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Lorain), he was a member of the St. John Holy Trinity Slovak Fraternal Lodge.

His interests included sports and working with computers.

Survivors include his mother: Celia Doslak (nee Ragan) of Lorain, a brother: Dr. William Doslak, of Lorain, Sister: Barbara Bartlett of Edgewood, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Michael A. Doslak in 1989.

Friends may call Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of closing prayer at 10:30 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway- Lorain. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church- 2428 Elyria Ave.- Lorain. The Rev. David A. Novak, pastor of the church will officiate. Private family burial services will be in Calvary Cemetery- Lorain at a later date.

The family suggests memorials in his memory to the Mellon Institute Research center in Care of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation- 9500 Euclid Ave.-Cleveland, OH 44195 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
