Maximino Muniz, 74, Enjoyed Working in Yard
Maximino Muniz, age 74, of Lorain, died on Thursday, February 21, 2002 at his residence, following a 3-month illness.He was born May 25, 1927 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, coming to Lorain in 1953.
Maximino was employed at Ford Motor Company in Brookpark, retiring in 1979 after 27 years of service.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and the Cursillos De Colores. He enjoyed mechanic work, receiving a vocational education certificate in 1944. He also enjoyed playing dominoes with his friends and working in his yard.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years: Monserrate, sons: Angel L. Prestamo, and Jose R. Muniz, both of Lorain, daughters: Nereida Fuentes and Maria Muniz, both of Lorain, brothers: Jose of Cleveland, Ricardo, of Puerto Rico, Rodrigo of Florida, sisters: Mercedes, Victoriana, Luz Maria and Ramona all of Puerto Rico, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons Wilfredo Muniz in 1970 and Maximino Jr. in 1952, his mother: Pascuala and father: Romon, brothers: Gregorio, Luis and Francisco.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 24, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, and also on Monday, from 9:00am until the time of funeral mass at 9:30am at Sacred Heard Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
