Alice Mae Armstrong White, 103, Enjoyed Travel

Alice Mae Armstrong White, 103, of Lorain died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 at the home of her daughter, Beula Giacobbe in Lorain, following a brief illness.

She was born May 4, 1898 in West Finley Township, Pa. She married Newton White Sept. 10, 1919 at Greenside United Presbyterian Church, Canonsburg, Pa. Moved to Austin, Texas in 1979 to live with her daughter and grandson.

She was a homemaker, and Mother who loved to travel and until she lost her sight she enjoyed table games and working crossword puzzles.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Canonsburg, Pa., First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters: Gerry Phillips of Washington, Pa., Beula Giacobbe of Lorain, a son: Robert White of Austin Texas, and 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren 21 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Newton White, her parents: James William and Hannah Viola Ritchea Armstrong, sons: William in 1957 and James in 1995, daughters: Eileen Cline in 1985 and Beverly Jean Morris in 2000.
