Catherine C. Slavik, 69, Avid Bowler
Catherine C. Slavik (nee Shemanski), of Avon Lake, passed away Sunday, February 24, at Bradley Bay Care Center, Bay Village following a lengthy illness. She was born November 9, 1932 in California, Pennsylvania and moved to Avon Lake from Westlake over forty years ago. She was a homemaker and avid bowler.She is survived by three daughters, Christine Slavik of Broomfield, Colorado; Michelle Miller (Bob) of Avon Lake and Diana Sheldon (Ed) of Avon Lake; a son, David Slavik (Teri) of Brownsburg, Indiana; five grandchildren; her father Bruno Shemanski of Daisytown, PA; three sisters, Beverly, Delores, and Shirley and two brothers, Bruno and George. She was preceded in death by her husband, David R. (1992); a brother, Marty and her mother Anna (nee Malinsky) Shemanski.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday. All services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, Feburary 28 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. James H. Beatty, pastor of Holy Spirit Church, Avon Lake, will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
