Albert Franklin "Big Ab" Rector, Sr., 59, Ford Assembler
Albert Franklin "Big Ab" Rector, Sr., age 59, of Sheffield Township, died Monday, February 25, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness.He was born January 4,1 943 in Jack's Run Hollar, Meadowbrook, West Virginia and had been a resident of Lorain County since his childhood.
Mr. Rector was employed as an assembler at Ford Motor Company's Lorain Assembly Plant; he retired in 1999 following 30 years of service with the company.
A member of American Legion Post #30 of Lorain and Elyria Eagles Club, and United Auto Workers Local 425, his hobbies included fishing, camping and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years: Barbara K. (nee East), sons Albert Jr., of Elyria, Danny of Elyria, and Terry of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, sisters, Icie Sams, Linda Crayton and Patty Jordan all of Shinston, West Virginia, Sheila Layne, Mary Copen and Tina Miller all of Lorain, and Susie Dotson of Parkersburg, WV and by brothers, John, Dave, Rob and Larry all of Parkersburg, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert E. and Anna Mae (nee Milligan) Rector, by brothers: Ronnie and James, and by one niece.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2002 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Dale Warrick officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain
