Andrew Jurczynski, 79, Machinist
Andrew Juczynski, of Lorain, died Sunday, February 25, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born January 29, 1923 in Lorain; a graduate of Lorain High School, he was a life-long resident of the city.Mr. Juczynski was employed as a machinist for the Ridge Tool Company of Elyria. He retired from that position after 30 years of service.
A parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (Lorain), he was a talented musician who played the drums for local bands throughout the 1940's. He was also a gifted harmonica player. He enjoyed collecting antiques and possessed a special interest in furniture and Tiffany lamps. Additional interests included raising Collies, worldwide travel, and playing the stock market.
Survivor include sisters: Stella Urban of Cleveland, Helen Walend of Sonoma, California, Therese Jurczynski of Amherst, brother: Joseph Jurczynski of Mulberry, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Mary (nee Phillipovich) Juczynski, brothers: John Phillips, Stanley, Walter, Casimer, and Theodore Juczynski.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Friends may also call Thurdsday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church 2702 Elyria Ave.- from 9:00 a.m. until time of the funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Kevin C. Shemuga, pastor of St. Stanislaus will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery- Lorain.
