Betty L. Smith, 62, Promoted to Glory

Betty L. Smith (nee Lambert) 62, of Sheffield Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 27th, 2002 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Born May 1, 1939 in Newburg, West Virginia, she has lived in the Lorain area since 1949.

She was a member of the Salvation Army, Lorain. She enjoyed collecting dolls and angels and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard, sons, Gary Smith, David Smith and Jason Smith, all of Lorain, daughters, Debra Arnett, of Lorain, Kathy Spence, of Sheffield Lake, and Mildred Hohman, of North Ridgeville, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson, her mother, Lilly P. Lambert, of Lorain, brother, David Lambert, of Chicago, and a sister, Elizabeth Reihner, of Punta Gorda, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lambert, brother, John Lambert, and grandson, David A.H. Smith Jr.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. Majors Robert and Doris Thomas, Commanding Officers of the Salvation Army, Lorian, and Majors Glen and Carol Bloomfield, Commanding Officers of the Salvation Army, Pittsburgh, PA, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
