Ruth M. Darling, 72, Enjoyed Making Crafts

Ruth M. Darling, (nee Carsey), 72, of Sheffield Twp. died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at her residence while under the care of New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.

Born December 7, 1929 in Huntington, West Virginia, she has lived in the Lorain area since 1959.

She worked as a deli clerk in the deli department of Finest Grocery Store in Sheffield Shopping Centre for 7 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that, she worked packing apples for Spiegelburg Orchards, Lorain for five years.

She enjoyed making crafts.

Surviving is her husband of 48 years, John, sons, Joseph Darling, of Amsterdam, OH, Gary Hatfield, Roger Lambert and Melvin Lambert all of Florida, daughters, Drema Hawkins of Carlisle Twp., and Ronda Coulter, of North Ridgeville, OH, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Lowe of Huntington, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel (nee Perdue) Carsey, and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Darling.

The family will receive friends on March 1, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain where services will be Saturday, March 2, 2002 at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Twp.
