Louis Hannon, 80, World War II Veteran

Born October 5, 1921 in Lorain, he lived in California, Florida, and Las Vegas before settling in Amherst in 1998.

He served in the US Army during World War II having spent most of his active time in Europe.

He worked as a crane operator for 40 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the International Operating Engineers Local 18, a life member of the veterans of Foreign War Post 1662, and a member of the American Legion Post 30. He enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his son, Edward, of Cape Coral, FL, a daughter, Diane Holland, of Amherst, 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter, brothers, James Hannon, of Cleveland, and Luke Hannon, of Orange, California, sisters Betty Patrick, of Cleveland, OH, Gertrude Hannon, of San Francisco, CA.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Robert, Raymond, sisters Deloris Campana, and Phyllis Hannon.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4th from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. Rev. William Schill, deacon of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 6th at 10 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
