Calvin Miller, 84, University of Toledo Graduate

Calvin R. Miller, 84, of Westlake and formerly of Avon Lake, passed away Saturday March 2, 2002 at Oakridge Home, Westlake. He was born January 12, 1918 in Toledo, Ohio and moved to the area 52 years ago.

Calvin served in the Army Air Corp. during World War II and was a graduate of the University of Toledo. He was employed in sales for the Gascon Paper Company, Cleveland before retiring. He was a member of LakeShore United Methodist Church, Avon Lake and enjoyed gardening, golfing, and playing bridge.

Mr. Miller is survived by his daughter, Susan Richards (Mrs. Tom) of Willoughby, Ohio; three grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Miller of Sarasota, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Donna W. Miller (nee White) in 2000; a brother, William G. Miller and his parents, Calvin G. and Thelma (nee Doty) Miller.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake Wednesday, March 6 from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Rev. William Grant, pastor of Lake Shore United Methodist Church will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
