Frances E. Richter , 72, Worked for Sheffield Lake School System
Frances E. Richter (nee Schurg), age 72, of Amherst, died on Monday, March 11, 2002 at Ohio Extended Care, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.Born Macrh 5, 1930 in Indian Head, PA, she moved to Lorain in 1957. She then lived in Sheffield Lake for 24 years, moving to Amherst in 2001.
Frances was employed as a custodian for the Sheffield Lake School System for 13 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Luthern Church and the Veterans of Foreign War Auxillary, Post 8686, Sheffield Lake.
Frances enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Domer Richter, Sr.; sons, Domer, Jr. of Lorain, Bryan of Canton, MI, Ron of PA; daughters, Faye Freeman, Beverly Ehlers, both of Lorain, Brenda DeWitt of Elizabeth, TN, Linda Leisure of PA; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Daugherty, Betty Gales, Dolores Knox, Lara Belle Schurg, and Elsie Johnson, all of PA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ina (nee Wolford) Schurg; daughter, Diane May in 1994; sisters, Anna Mae Peck, Mary White, Madge Laurella; brothers, Norman and Clyde Schurg.
The family will receive friends on Friday March 15, 2002 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Friends may call again at the First Evangelical Luthern Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Revs. Jimmy Madsen and Woody Chamberlain will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery , Lorain.
