John "Jack" C. Reisinger, 79, WWII Army Veteran
John "Jack" C. Reisinger, 79, of Lorain, passed away Monday March 11, 2002 at home following a short illness.He was born September 23, 1922 in Lorain. John was a Design Engineer for the U.S. Steel Corp and graduate of Lorain High School. He was a private pilot out of the old Lorain City Airport. He helped raise funds for the new Lorain County Airport. In 1965 he received a letter of praise from the FAA for is actions in saving his passengers lives in an airplane crash on Dec. 31, 1964. He played bridge with the Lorain Duplicate Bridge Club. He also enjhoyed building electronic equipment and was an avid music fan having played both the banjo and the electric organ.
John is survived by his spouse Betty (nee Cathers); 3 daughters, Joyce Stratton of Columbus, OH; Jill Sanders of Columbus, OH; and Jan Reisinger of Columbus, OH; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Isabel (Cameron) Reisinger.
