Michael Barbuscak, 76, Lorain Ford Assembly Plant

Michael Barbuscak, 76, of Lorain, died Sunday March 17, 2002 at Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain after a brief illness. He had been hospitalized at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.

He was born August 26, 1925 in Wilpen, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since childhood. He was a 1944 graduate of Lorain High School. He served with the US Navy during World War II.

Mr. Barbuscak worked at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plany for 20 years retiring in 1992. Prior to that he worded at Fruehauf Trailer in Avon Lake for 20 years.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzatine Rite Catholic Church, the church Holy Name Society, the American Legion Post #30 in Lorain, Knights of Columbus of Lorain and the Greek Catholic Union #77.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, polka dancing, travel with his family, and his dog Hershey.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Betty (nee Janosik), daughters Jane Fusilero of Elyria and Christine Barbuscak of Lorain; grandson Michael Fradley of Elyria and sisters Ann Tishko of Richmond Heights, Katherine Haller of Lorain and Julia Bransztet of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary (nee Mrosko) Barbuscak, brother Joseph Barbuscak and sister Mary Deliman.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-5; 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where the St. Nicholas Holy Name Society and Altar & Rosary Society will pray the rosary Tuesday ay 3:00 p.m. A Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a/m/ in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Lturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzatine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W.40th St., Lorain. The Rev. James Batcha, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
