Wilmer C. Horning, 65, St. Paul Lutheran Church

Wilmer C. Horning, 65 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002 at Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.

He was born August 16, 1936 in Norwalk, OH, where he was raised. He has been a resident of Amherst for the last 46 years.

He was employed at Pfaudler Manufacturing, Elyria for 28 years as a machine operator and in the shipping department. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst and enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and bowling.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marjorie (nee Bremke) Horning; a son, David Horning of Lorain; daughters Betty Linden of Grafton and Ruth McClure of Wellington; brothers Charles Horning, Fred Horning, and James Horning, all of Norwalk; and sisters Catherine Petsch of Iowa and Pauline Clark of Norwalk.

He was preceded in death by his parents Freadhelm and Bertha (nee Waldron) Horning; and by his brother Paul Horning.

Friends may call Wednesday 3-5 an 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave.; Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church; 115 Central Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Gary D. Bernath, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
