Michael R. MacAvoy, 54, Holy Trinity Church

Mr. MacAvoy had recently retired from LTV Steel, Cleveland, as a Millwright after 33 years of service. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving in Viet Nam from 1966-1969, then serving in the Reserves until 1971. He was a 1966 graduate of Avon Lake High School. Mr. MacAvoy was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 211, Avon Lake and a Life Member of VFW Post 7035, Avon. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Church, Avon. He enjoyed travel.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Brant) whom he married September 6, 1966. Other survivors include a sone Michael (Janet) of Avon Lake, a daughter Stephanie at home, his father Joseph R. MacAvoy of North Ridgeville, a brother Timothy MacAvoy of Mundeline,Ill and a step-brother, John Votava, of Avon. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie (nee Brennan), his stepmother Mae, a stepbrother Richard and a stepsister Virginia.

Friends may call the BUSCH-BURMIESTER FAMILY CHAPEL , 32000 Detriot Rd., Avon, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home, at 8:00 p.m. Fr. John Misenko of Holy Trinity Church will officiate. Interment will be Saturday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Jaycox Road, Avon. Cremation is by the Busch Crematory.
