Gloria Gonzalez, 83, Loved Traveling and Collecting Figurines
Gloria Gonzalez (nee Rivera), age 83, died on Friday, March 22, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born August 1, 1918 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, moving to this area in 1947. She had also lived in New York, NY.
She was a member of Cristo Rey Pentecostal Church, where she was treasurer and President of the Women's Fellowship Group. Gloria was also a member for many years of Templo Bethel.
She loved traveling and collecting figurines.
She is survived by her son: Jorje Luis (Georgie) Conzalez, brother: Josendo Rivera, sisters: Hilda Rivera of Vega Baja and Adelina Rivera of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Francisco and Isabel (nee Olivera) Rivera, brother: Reynaldo Melendez, son: Antonio Melendez.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia Christiana Pentecostes Movimiento Misionero Mundial, 3815 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Rafael Gonzalez, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
