Betty Joyce Greenoe, 81, Assembler

Betty Joyce Greenoe, (nee Stutt-Murphy) age 81, of Sheffield Village, died Saturday, March 23, 2002 in the Coronary Care Unit of EMH Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

She was born July 15, 1920 in Cleveland, OH and had been a resident of Sheffield Village and Sheffield Lake for fifty years.

A former member of Penfield Junction Baptist Church, she was most recently employed as an assembler for Lorain Products. She had previously been employed in the kitchen of the Thew Division of Koehring (Lorain) as well as the snack bar of Zayres Department store.

An accomplished baker, she also served as a pie baker for the Maple Inn for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, bingo, cards and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George, sons: Dennis Davis of Middleburg Heights, Gary G. Greenoe of Sheffield Village, Randy B. Greenoe of Amherst, daughters: Linda K. Urig of Collins, Sandra J. Dalzell and Fern E. Bailey both of Amherst, Gail L. Parker of South Beloit, Illinois, Kimberly S. McCray of Sheffield Village, 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brother Carol A. Stutt, Jr., of Lorain and sister Naomi Romeyn of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her son: Richard A. Greenoe, mother: Fern B. (nee Allen) Murphy, father: Patrick Murphy, stepfather: Carl A. Stutt Sr., a brother, Tim Murphy, and a sister, Elaine Hronec.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with the Steven R. Haddix, pastor of Rive of Life Ministries officiating.

The family suggests memorials in her memory to Life Bank.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Chapel, Lorain.
