Grace L. Mawby, 92, Piano Teacher

She was born October 20, 1909 in Avon Lake where she was a lifelong resident. Grace was a graduate of the Avon Lake High School and was self-employed as a piano teacher. She was a member of the Avon Lake United Church of Christ and loved animals especially her pet cats. In addition to music, she also enjoyed quilting and sewing, reading, visiting out of town family and flower gardening.

She is survived by cousins in England and Michigan, and by a friend Phyllis Clark of Avon Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Mawby (nee Handley) and two brothers, Stanley and Ivan Mawby.

Friends may call Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Beldon Road, Avon Lake, Tuesday, March 26, 2002 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Kelly Boyte Peters, pastor of the Avon Lake United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakewood Park Cemetery, Rocky River. Memorials may be forwarded to the music scholarship fund at the Avon Lake High School.
