Margaret H. Karney, 87, St. Ladislaus Catholic Church Member
Margaret H. Karney (nee Litkovitz) 87, of Lorain, died Monday, March 25, 2002 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center in Lorain after suffering an apparent heart attach at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain.She was born March 29, 1914 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School.
Mrs. Karney was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain and had attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township. She was a charter member of St. Ann'' Auxiliary #287 of the Knights of St. John, the St. Ladislaus Virgin Mary Society, a life member of the St. Vincent Altar & Rosary Society and a member of the American-Hungarian Citizens Club.
She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Novak of Detroit Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Laslo Karney, parents, John and Clara (nee Estok) Litkovitz, sisters, Mary Balogh, Rose Whitney, Helen Grice and Julia Nemeth and brothers John Litkovitz, George Litkovitz, Theodore Litkovitz and Walter Litkovitz.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 27, 2002 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the St. Ladislaus Virgin Mary Society will pray the rosary Wednesday at 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 10:00 AM in the funeral chapel witih the Rev. Patrick Shields, pastor of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
