Mary Ann Grondin, 84, Lifelong Resident of Lorain
Mary Ann Grondin (nee Mika), age 84, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at Community Health Partners emergency room.She was born August 21, 1917 in Lorain. She retired as a supervisor from Lorain Garment Factory as well as several other garment factories in the area.
She is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Mrs. Grondin enjoyed sewing, listening to music and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Marie Amador of Sheffield Lake, 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild, sister, Veronica L. Striker of Sheffield Village, 4 nephews, 6 nieces and many great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles P. in 1997, her parents, Alfonso and Nelly Mika, brother, Milan Mika, sisters, Sophie Prostack, Stephany Ruth, Helen Herdendorf, Frances Ursic and Tillie Waldecker.
Christian Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Reidy Scanlan Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain. Fr. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor, St. Anthony of Padua Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
