Thomas Falish, Sr., 86, Quality Control Inspector
Thomas Falish Sr., age 86, of Lorain died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an extended illness.He was born February 13, 1916 in Dickerson Run, PA and had been a long-time resident of Lorain.
He was employed as a quality control inspector in the #3 Seamless Finishing Mill at U.S. Steel's Lorain Works. He retired in 1979 following 38 years of service.
An avid bowler and member of the American Bowling Congress, he participated extensively in leagues at Croatian Club Lanes, Shoreway Lanes, and American Slovak Lanes. Additional interests included fishing, football, baseball and working on automobiles.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Beside (nee Duncan), sons: Thomas, Jr. of Sheffield Lake, Steven Paul, Michael Angelo, and John Glen all of Lorain, Jeffrey Lynn of Elyria, daughters: Doris Diodorou of Wyandotte, MI, and Anna Marie Gear of Charleston, SC, step-sons: Larry Dietrich and Rodney Dietrich of Lorain, step-daughters: Karen Pace of Sand Springs, OK, and Brenda Cline and Hope Marie Dietrich both of Lorain, 30 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Dorothy (nee Duncan) his father: Peter Falish, his mother: Anna (nee Skyva) Falish, grandchildren: Alexis Marie and Anthony Ryan, brothers: John, Mike, Peter, and Paul and sister: Mary.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 3, 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Charles Henkle, O.F.M. Conv., associate pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Township.
