Robert A. Quimper, 53, Emplyed by Art Gravue, Vietnam Veteran
Robert A. Quimper, 53, of Avon Lake, passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center, Lorain following complications of Diabetes.Mr. Quimper was born, July 12, 1948 in Lorain, was a life long area resident and had lived for 3 years in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Mr. Quimper attended Avon Lake High School. He was Vietnam Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He was employed as a pressman with the Art Gravure Inc. (associated with the Cleveland Plain Dealer) for many years and most recently worked for several years with Ross Incineration, Grafton. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Avon Lake and a member of American legion Post 211, Avon Lake. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, the study of history and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife Mona (nee Kuhn), a son David Quimper of Lorain, and a daughter. Other survivors include his mother, Mildred V. Quimper (nee Duff) of Avon lake and a brother Barry E. Quimper of Saginaw, MI. He is preceded in death by his father, Francis A. Quimper in1983 and two brothers Francis G. Quimper in 1984 and Paul J. Quimper in 1995.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Beldon Road, Avon Lake, on Friday, April 5th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Prayer service at the funeral home, Saturday, April 6th at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Thomas Cleaton of the church will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Church Cemetery.
