Neva Grace Wheelock, 84, Teacher

Neva Grace Wheelock A. (nee Stuart), 84, of Avon Lake passed away Friday, April 5, 2002 at Grace Hospital in Amherst following a lengthy illness.

She was born November 13, 1917 in Sac County, Iowa and moved to Avon Lake from the Akron area in 1957. She has resided at The Inn at Chapel Creek, Vermilion the past two years. She was a graduate of Akron University and was employed as a fourth grade school teacher at Westwood Elementary School in Avon Lake for many years, retiring in 1975. Neva was a member of the Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, the Lakeshore Women's Club and the Ladies Oriental Shrine, Kheedawee Court 46. She was also very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 557, Avon Lake where she held many local and state positions. She enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband.

Mrs. Wheelock is survived by her son, George S. Wheelock (Evelyn) of Huron; three grandchildren, Todd S. Wheelock of Keystone, CO; Wendi L. Pannucci of Marlvern, OH and Whit G. Wheelock of Huron; a brother, Donald W. Stuart of Worthington, MN; and her sister-in-law, Violet (nee Wheelock) Anderson of La Harbra, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. (1992), a sister, Florence Ludwig; a brother, Harold Stuart; and her parents Raymond and Gladys Marie (nee Grace) Stuart.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel 163 Avon-Beldon Road, Avon Lake from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 08, 2002 where the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 557, Avon Lake will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, April 9th at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Thomas C. Robinson, pastor of the Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
