Sharon K. Manning, 47, Custodial Services
Sharon K. Manning (nee Clark), age 47, of Lorain died Friday, April 5, 2002 at University Hospitals of Cleveland following an extended illness.She was born May 12, 1954 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.
A 1972 graduate of Clearview High School, she was employed by the Amherst Board of Education; for the past 20 years, she had served in the custodial services department of Marion L. Steele High School.
Ms. Manning enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, and the company of her grandchildren. She had also served as a volunteer for the Amherst Athletic Booster's bingo program at M.L. Steel High School for many years.
Survivors include a son: Robert G. Manning Jr. of Lorain, daughters, Tina Manning and Carla Kell both of Lorain, three grandsons, brothers: Thomas Clark of Lorain, Carlos Adkins of Pineview, GA and sister in law: Kathy Clark of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herndon and Hannah (nee Adkins) Clark and by a brother: Walker Adkins.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lorain Church of Christ, 5075 Toledo Road in Sheffield Township. The Rev. Robert Eddy, pastor of the church will officiate.
Private burial will be in Community Gardens Cemetery, Wayne, WV.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain.
