Bernice Elinor Heckert, 91, Enjoyed Playing Golf
Bernice Elinor Heckert (nee Shively), age 91, of Vermilion, died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at Inn at Chapel Creek, Vermilion.Born April 22, 1910 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a Vermilion resident since 1982.
She attended Northminster Presbyterian Church, Lorain and was a former member of the Elyria Country Club. She was a member of the Coloney Club where she played bridge. She also enjoyed playing golf.
She is survived by her son, Tom Heckert, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and 2 grandchildren, Kimberly and Tom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Heckert in 1989, a brother, Dale Shively and a sister, Lucille Reed.
A memorial services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. The Reverend James Smucker, pastor of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, Amherst will officiate.
