Elizabeth Harasty, 87, Enjoyed Crocheting

Elizabeth Harasty (nee Tokar), 87, of Lorain, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

Born June 24 1914 in Szirinfalva, Ung Megye, Hungry, she immigrated to Lorain in 1930 and has lived here since.

She was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, the St. Ann Auxiliary 287, and the Virgin Mary Society of the church. She was also active in the church choir for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and reading. She also enjoyed drawing blue prints for homes, rebuilding, and remodeling homes.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Harasty, Jr. of Lorain, 8 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Stephen Harasty, Sr. in 1985, a daughter, Olga Harasty, in 1971, a brother, Joseph Tokar, and her parents, Peter and Veronica (nee Pasztor) Tokar.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2002, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be Saturday, April 13th at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Patrick Shields, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
