Geraldine M. Hamilton, 77, Hills Department Store Clerk for 32 Years
Geraldine M. Hamilton (nee Weber), 77, of Lorain , died Sunday April 14, 2002 at her home after a brief illness.She was born December 8, 1924 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Mrs. Hamilton worked at Hill Department Stores in Lorain and Amherst as a clerk and department head for 32 years before retiring. She had the most seniority out of all Hills employees.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter and was a past member of St. Johns Roman Catholic, both of Lorain. She was a member of the St. John Alter & Rosary Society, the church choir and Legion of Mary and served on the St. John School PTA.
Mrs. Hamilton enjoyed tole painting, playing cards and was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
She is survived by her son; William Hamilton of Lorain; daughters; Patricia Casper of Henrietta Township, Bev Bevins of Amherst and Margaret "Peggy" Michener of Lorain; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and brothers Richard Weber and Robert Weber, both of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Hamilton in 1970, parents William & Margaret (nee Dolasky) Weber, Sister Dolores Weber and brothers James Weber, Edward Weber, Ralph Weber and William Weber.
Friends may call Monday 7-9PM and Tuesday 2-4; 7-9PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. The rosary prayer will be said Tuesday at 3:00 PM in the funeral chapel by the St. John Altar & Rosary Society. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 9:30AM at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
