Pearl C. Simpson, 96, Grandmother to 28 Grandchildren

Pearl C. Simpson (nee Karns) - 96 of Sheffield Lake, formerly of Avon Lake and Lorain, passed away, Friday, April 12 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home following complications of a heart aliment. Mrs. Simpson was born March 15, 1906 in Kittanning, PA and moved to Lorain, 47 years ago. Mrs. Simpson along with her husband had worked as a custodian at several apartment complexes in the area, retiring in the late 1970's. She was a member of Avon Lake Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting.

Her husband of 50 years, Robert R. Simpson, passed away in 1981. Mrs. Simpson is survived by sons, Donald of FL, Charles of Thailand, William of FL and Thomas of TN; a daughters Audrey Camp of Sheffield Lake; a brother Kenneth Karns and sisters Imogene Transue and Gertrude Sidora all of PA. Other survivors include 28 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Simpson is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ada (nee Dowling) Karns; sons, Robert and George; a daughter Jean King; 7 brothers, 3 sisters, 4 granddaughters and a grandson.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake, Tuesday April 16, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, April 17 at 1:00pm. Pastor Jamie Stewart of the Avon Lake Baptist Church will officiate.
