Barbara C. Janosik, 85, Accomplished Violinist

Barbara C. Janosik, 85, of Lorain, died Tuesday April 16, 2002 at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness.

She was born January 5, 1917 in Lorain and had been a lifelong a Lorain area resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School class of 1934B.

She studied music and violin at Mr. St. Joseph Academy in Boston, Massachusetts. She was an accomplished violinist having played in the Lorain Symphony and girls orchestra for dancing. She played in the girls orchestra at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and was a honorary member of the Regis College Orchestra.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lorain. She had a booth at Jamie's Flea Market in South Amherst for 28 years.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Johnson of Lorain and granson Kevin S. Kiepe of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Barbara (nee Barto) Janosik.

Cremation will take place. Private services will be held. The ashes will be buried in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain.
