Ralph J. Bring, 71, Heavy Machine Operator
Ralph J. Bring, age 71, of Sheffield Village passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a lengthy illness.Born April 20, 1930, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed as a heavy machine operator for 35 years working for Griffith Blacktop for 30 of those years.
He is a member of the Operating Engineers Local 18 for 35 years. Mr. Bring is a 1948 Brookside High School graduate and a member of the 1947 and 1948 undefeated high school football teams at Brookside.
Mr. Bring enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include sons: Glen A. Bring of Elyria, and Timothy Bring of Avon Lake, daughters: Nita Bring-Mazurek of Avon Lake, 4 granddaughters, long time companion Cam Collins of Elyria, brother: Lester Bring of Lorain, sisters: Evelyn Foltz of Plano, TX and Irene Griffith of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Christine (Alten) Bring, brothers Leo and Carl Bring.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake. Fr. Timothy O'Conner will officiate.
