Earl William "Bill" Murch, 81, Pipefitter

Earl William "Bill" Murch, 81, of Avon Lake passed away Thursday, April 18, 2002 at his home following a short illness.

He was born April1 0, 1921 in Cleveland and has lived in Avon Lake for the past 48 years.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal on the Marshall Islands and Okinawa in the South Pacific. He was employed as a Pipefitter for Union Local 120. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake and he enjoyed golfing, bowling and the Avon Lake Softball League.

Mr. Murch is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (nee Csarny); a daughter, Catherine Murch of Cincinnati, two sons, Thomas Murch (Karen) of Avon Lake and Paul Murch (Rachel) of Rochester Hills, Michigan; a grandson, Mark Murch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Fletcher Murch and Catherine Murch (nee Higgins).

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Beldon Road, Avon Lake from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2002. Prayer Services at the funeral home, Monday, April 22nd at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph, Avon Lake at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Timothy J. O'Connor, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park. Memorials may be forwarded to the St. Joseph Faith in the Family Building Fund, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or to the New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
