Hazel Ema Jones, 76, Nurses Aid
Hazel Ema Jones (nee Casada), 76 years of age, and a former resident of Amherst passed away, Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2002 following a lengthy illness.Born June 17, 1925 in Wayne County, KY, she was raised and lived in KY until moving in Amherst at the age of 21. She was a resident of Amherst until failing health prompted her to seek nursing home assistance.
Hazel worked as a nurses aid for Autumn Aegis Nursing Home and Golden Achers Nursing Home for fifteen years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Old Fashioned Grace Baptist Church in South Amherst. She enjoyed reading and going out to diner with her family.
Survivors include daughters, Josephine Jones of Westlake, OH and Brenda Milam of Amherst, OH, two grandchildren, brothers, Ardell Casada, Larry Casada and Farris Casada all of KY, and sister, Myrtle Jones of Vermilion, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, Samuel Jones on July 15, 1978; by brother Harley Casada and by parents, Eli and Ruth Mary Casada (nee Keith).
Friends may call Tuesday, April 23, 2002 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held privately by the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst, Ohio.
