A. Dallas "Ben" Neely, 66, Ford Retiree

A. Dallas "Ben" Neely, 66 of Vermilion died Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2002 at Community Health Partners West, Lorain after a 5 week hospital stay.

He was born on May 27, 1935 in Kidder, Kentucky and has been a Vermilion resident since 1975 moving from Lorain.

He worked at the Lorain Ford Automotive Plant as an assembler and has been retired 20 years.

He was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Elyria, UAW Local #425 and Morgan Horse Association. He loved horses.

Survivors include his wife, Annetta (nee Shelton) Neely, his father, George D. Neely of Somerset, Kentucky; 3 brothers, Donald Neely of Fault Springs, FL, Rudy Neely of Somerset, KY, and Wayne Neely of Somerset, KY.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora (nee Thompson) Neely; brother, Richard A. Neely and a sister, Mary Elizabeth.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Open Door, 43275 Telegraph Road, Elyria, Thursday, April 25, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverends William Chapman, and Bill Williams, associate pastors of the Church of the Open Door, Mr. Avon Dixon, deacon of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Amherst and Reverend Bill Mouer of the Amherst Foursquare Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
