Robert C. Gorman, 77, CPA
Robert C. Gorman, 77, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 22,2002 at his home.He was born January 30, 1925 in Elyria, Ohio. He was a Vermilion resident since 1961 moving from Elyria.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1943 to 1946. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant in Elyria retiring in 1981. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion and the Rockwell Springs Trout Club. He served on the Board of Directors of Lorain County saving and Trust and the Advisory Commission of the Lorain City Administration Building. HE was an avid fisherman and enjoyed constructing cane fly fishing rods. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Survivors include his daughter, Ann Marie Fitzwater of Elyria, sons, Timothy Gorman of Cody, WY and Richard Gorman of Oak Pak, IL and 4 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Carol Gorman, 1982, parents, Thomas and Lillian (nee Ohligar); bothers, Thomas and John Gorman, and a sister, Frances Ruth Flaherty.
Friends may call Thursday, April 25, 2002 from 5-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Friday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. Father Phil Feltman, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
