Frank Edward Buchanan, 62, Cleveland Quarries Laborer

Frank Edward Buchanan, 62 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away, April 24, 2002 at Lorain Community Health Partners West after a lengthy illness.

Born September 4, 1939 in Barbourville, Kentucky. where he was raised moving to Amherst in 1964. He has made his home in Lorain since 1991.

Frank worked for the Cleveland Quarries as a laborer retiring after 27 years.

Survivors include his son, David R. Griffith of Lorain, his daughters, Mary R. Davidson and Janice Lynn Dziak both of Lorain; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother Dee Buchanan of KY; his sisters Belle Golden of Amherst, Mae Spoonamore of Elyria, Liddy Hembree and Gertie Campbell both of KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Gloria Patricia (nee Stringfield) in 1991; his parents Charles and Gracie (nee Logan) Buchanan; his brothers, Bud Buchanan and bill Buchanan; his sisters Ruby Green, Mossey Green and Dorothy Hickman.

Friends may call Friday, April 26, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27th at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Williard Moore, pastor of Free Pentacostal Church of South Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
