Buell Max Johnston, 73, Ford Motor Line Supplier
Buell Max Johnston, 73 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2002 at Community Health Partners H & S Center after a sudden illness.Born May 25, 1928 in Cave City, Arkansas where he lived until coming to Lorain in 1955. He has been a resident of Amherst for the last 13 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at Ford Motor Assembly Plant, Lorain for 30 years, retiring in 1991 as a line supplier in the tire department. He enjoyed tinkering on machinery and wood working.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Betty Lou (nee Ross) Johnston, and his sister, Mable Undrisky of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dora (nee Miller) Johnston.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 1, 2002 from 4-7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Rev. James Smucker, pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
