Ann Marie Garkish, 90, Salesperson

She was born December 4, 1911 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Mrs. Garkish worked as a salesperson at Ted Jacobs and Weitz Clothing, both of Lorain. She had also worked at US Steel in Lorain.

During World War II, she served as a block warden.

She was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Lorain.

She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn Owens of Suisun, CA and Annette Kerekanich of Vermilion, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and sister, Stella Olejko of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Thomas Garkish on March 7, 2002, parents, John and Katherine (nee Vukin) Berish, sisters Helen Beres and Bertha Mazur and brother John Berish.

Private family funeral services were held Friday, May 03, 2002. The Rev. Simon Nekic, pastor of St. Vitus Catholic Church officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
