Helen Lois Ewers, Nurse
Helen Lois Ewers (nee Cimperman) of Lorain died on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, OH following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Ewers was born in Cleveland and lived in Lorain since 1954. She was a graduate of St. Vitus School in Cleveland and St. John's School of Nursing. Mrs. Ewers was a registered nurse. She had worked in numerous hospitals and retired in 1979 from the Lorain Health Department as a visiting nurse. She worked as a school nurse part-time after her retirement.
She is a member of the St. Mary Church in Lorain, the Slovenian Club and the I.A.V.
Mrs. Ewers enjoyed theatre, traveling, camping, music, dancing and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Judge Robert A. Ewers, to whom she was married on August 18,1 951, two sons William and Raymond both of Lorain, four daughters, Deborah Ewers of Lorain, Susan Pelini of Westlake, Katherine Pasalcqua of Bay Village, Mary Ellen Ewers-Pena of Avon Lake and 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (nee Klaus) Cimperman, sisters Jennie Bocar, Bertha Glau, Mimi Vehar, Anna Vuk, her brothers Frank Cimperman, John Cimperman, Louis Cimperman and Tony Cimperman.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Sunday, May 5, 2002 from 7-9 and also on Monday, May 6, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:0 0a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 308 E. 8th Street, Lorain with Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor as the celebrant. Helen Lois Ewers will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
