William "Bill" W. Pashko, 84, Enjoyed Golfing and Boating
William "Bill" W. Pashko, age 84, of Lorain died on Monday, May 6, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, following a lengthy illness.Born June 1, 1917 in Dunbar, PA he moved to Lorain in 1948.
Bill served in the United States Army as a Private First Class in World War II in Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe Ardennes. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, EAME Theater Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the Victory Medal.
He worked as a scarfer at Lorain Works US Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of United Steel Workers Union Local 1104 and enjoyed golfing as well as boating.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Dorothy (nee Dobish); daughter, Sharon Pashko, of Lorain; sisters Mildred Kret, of Cleveland and Blanche Kollar, of Uniontown, PA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Anna (nee Pasierb) Pashko; brothers, Walter, Stanley, Steve, Michael and Joseph ; and sister, Mary Squirek.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 from 4-6 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2002 at the Haky Funeral Home, 139 W. Fayette Street, Uniontown, PA at a time to be determined later. Burial will be Saturday, May 11, 2002 in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
