Patricia A. O'Connor, 74, Office Aid and Study Hall Monitor
Patricia A. O'Connor (nee Degan), age 74, of Lorain died Saturday, May 18, 2002 at her residence following an extended illness.Mrs. O'Connor was born July 26, 1927 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city and a 1945 graduate of Lorain High School.
She was employed as an office aid and study hall monitor at Lorain Southview High School; she retired in 1987 following 17 years of service with the school district.
A parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain, she was a former parishioner of St. John Roman Catholic Church (Lorain).
She was a former member of St. John P.T.O., the St. John's Mother's Club, as well as the Southview High School Booster Club.
Her hobbies included family, cooking, baking, sewing, flower gardening and Bible study.
Survivors include daughters: Micki O'Connor and Patty O'Connor both of Concord, NC, Carrie Parker of Lorain, sons: James P. O'Connor of Dallas, TX, Timothy W. O'Connor of Willard, OH, a total of 16 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 2 great step-grandchildren, her brother: John Degan of Lorain, and sister: Catherine "Teresa" Tony also of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband James P. O'Connor in September of 1994, and by her parents: John and Catherine (nee Pozega) Degan.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2002 from 2-4 an d7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromoada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 22, 2002 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. G. Michael Williamson, associate pastor of the church will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
