Luis Manuel Gomez, 45, Auto Mechanic

He was born on December 9, 1956 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. He moved from Brooklin, New York, New York, where he lived 20 years.

Mr. Gomez was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a member of the Puerto Rican Home, Lorain. He enjoyed playing pool and fishing.

Among the survivors is his wife of 4 years Gesmin Rios, sons Luis M. Gomez, Jr. and David Gomez both of New Haven, Connecticut, a daughter Alexandra Gomez of Tampa, Florida; his mother Margarita Monge of Lorain; brothers Hector M., Jose A., Santiago, Jose M., Ruiz all of Lorain and Alvaro Ruiz of Astoria, Oregon; sisters Maria del Carmen Flores and Maria Justina Ruiz both of Columbus, Ohio, Iris Benejon, Fransisca Ruiz, Margarita Ruiz and Ramonita Ruiz all of Lorain, Maria Victoria Castro of Bronx, New York, New York and Rosa Ester Ruiz of Fajardo, Puerto Rico and three Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Jose M. Ruiz in 1987.

Friends may call Friday 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio.

The Funeral will be Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 8:45 AM with closing prayers in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass of the Resurrection in Sacred heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
