Marie Striker, 92, Enjoyed Flower and Vegetable Gardening
Marie Striker (nee Towstiak), age 92 of Sheffield Village, died Monday, May 20, 2002 in the emergency room of EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.She was born November 20, 1909 in Lorain and had been a resident of Sheffield Village since 1948.
A parishioner of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church (Elyria Township), she was a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society as well as its Ladies Guild.
Her hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her son: Ronald Striker of Elyria, granddaughter: Denise Striker-Straus of Gates Mills, OH and Bryon S. Striker of Sheffield Village along with four great grandchildren and her sister, Ann Pozega of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew in 1984, by her parents: John and Anna (nee Manasterska) Towstiak; brothers: John Towstiak and Michael Towstiak; and sisters: Theresa "Tess" M. Alten Genoso.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 23, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday, May 24th at a time to be announced. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
