Chester E. Brosky, 86, Ford Supervisor
Chester E. Brosky, age 86, of Lorain, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Community Health Partners following a brief illness.He was born June 7, 1915 in Lorain, where he resided most of his life also living in Michigan for 35 years.
He graduated from nativity BVM in 1930, Lorain High School Class of 1934 and Oberlin School of Commerce in 1937 where he studied accounting and finance. He was employed by the former American Stove Company in Lorain from 1937 to 1954. He was also a supervisor at Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant in Walton Hills from 1954 until transferring to the Division Staff in Dearborn, MI, retiring in 1980. He was drafted into the US Army in 1941 as private, rising to the rank of Captain, serving in various ports in the US and overseas in Okinawa and was honorably discharged in 1946 and in the reserves until 1952.
He was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain where he was an usher, server and member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Senior Fellowship Club in Lorain. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Survivors include a daughter, Audeen Wojtowicz of Livonia, MI; sons, Dennis and Judy Brosky of Williamston, MI and David and Theresa Brosky of Ishpeming, MI, 6 grandchildren, brothers, Edward Brosky of Lorain and Bert Brosky of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret B. (nee Prososki) Brosky in 1999, a daughter, Ivone Brosky, parents, Frank and Helen (nee Makowski) Brosky and sisters, Sr. Alphonsine, Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Eleanor Pastron and Florence Skarupa.
Friends may call Friday, May 24, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. a the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain where the Holy Name Society will conduct a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
