Valerie P. Kane, 82

Valerie P. Kane (nee Rasimas), 82, of Avon, Ohio passed away Friday May 24, 2002 at the Avon Oaks Nursing Home, Avon following a lengthy illness. She was born April 20, 1920 in Frackbille, Pennsylvania and was raised in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania before moving to Avon from Brunswick fifteen years ago. She was a graduate of Tamaqua High School and the McCan School of Business and was a homemaker. She enjoyed writing and poetry, cross-stitching and was a baseball fan.

Mrs. Kane is survived by her daughter Valerie DeChant (Richard) of Avon and a son, John Kane of Leetonia; three grandchildren, Gretchen, Erich and Adam DeChant; and sister, Michalina "Minnie" Metrick of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex (d. 1982); her daughter, Karen Fessenden (d. 1993); three sister, Pentrinella Rasimas, Isabella Aransky and Helen Zakarosky; a brother Alfonso Rasimas and her parents, John and Valerie (see Yobes) Rasimas.

A funeral service will be held at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd. Avon Tuesday, May 28 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. John Misenko, pastor of Holy Trinity Church, Avon will officiate. Burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery, Brunswick. Memorials may be forwarded to the Activities Program at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, 37800 French Creek Rd. Avon, OH 44011.
