Edward M. Kowalski, 84, Veteran of U.S. Army

Edward M. Kowalski, 84 of Vermilion, died Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 15, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 18 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

He worked as a Security Officer for the City of Cleveland. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, an avid sportsman, fisherman and loved animals and wildlife.

Survivors included his sister, Ann Kennedy of Willoughby, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Paul and Broneslana (nee Zabacha) Kowalski, a Brother, Charles Cole and sisters, Florence Barnhard and Kay Horan

Friends may call Tuesday May 26, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, where a Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. Father Steve Blum, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, with full military honors.
