Richard J. Klena, 50, Lifelong Lorain Resident

Richard John "Papa Rich" Klena, 50, of Lorain, died Tuesday May 28, 2002 in the critical care unit of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center in Lorain after a sudden illness.

He was born August 14, 1951 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. He was a 1970 graduate of Admiral King High School.

Mr. Klena worked at US Steel and RTI in Lorain as a foreman in Rolling Mill Conditioning for 31 1/2 years retiring on February 1, 2002.

He was a past member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and a life member of the United Polish Club in Lorain.

Mr. Klena enjoyed recording old-time county music, eating ice cream, motorcycling, his grandchildren and his dog.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years Linn Klena of Lorain, son Richard Joseph Klena of Lorain, daughter Rochelle Agnes Komlosi of Lorain, stepdaughter Jennifer Lynn Watchorn of Lorain, stepson Zachary Beyer of Lorain, stepdaughter Jennifer Lynn Watchorn of Lorain, stepson Zachary Beyer of Lorain; 5 1/2 grandchildren; sisters Rosemary Klena of Lakewood and Marilyn Botchick Shedron of Lorain and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Botchick (nee Wilhelmi).

Friends may call Friday 1-3 PM & 7-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM. The Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
